NeoAnalogLab Inc. has launched Neoanaloglab Foto, a contest community dedicated to film (silver halide) photography.
Film photography used to belong to everyone. As rising film prices and social media algorithms turn it into a club for the few, we wanted a place where anyone can compete on equal terms with a single photograph — so we built a platform that is free to join.
How Foto Works
- Themed contests: Weekly and monthly themes, with one entry per person per theme.
- Community voting: Winners are decided purely by community vote — follower counts and reputation don’t matter.
- Permanent gallery: Up to 10 selected works per round are showcased in the gallery forever, filterable by theme, camera, film stock, and lab.
- Trilingual by default: Titles and stories are automatically translated into Japanese, English, and Chinese, reaching readers in each language.
Film Only
Only photographs shot on film are accepted — digital photos with film-style processing are not allowed. Shooting data such as camera, lens, film stock, and developing lab is recorded alongside each work, building up a shared knowledge base for the community.
